Temporary suspension is the ability for a Hughesnet® customer to temporarily suspend their Hughesnet service for part of the year. This is often useful for individuals that travel for extended periods of time or maintain seasonal enterprises (e.g. campgrounds) that are closed for a portion of the year.
How do I suspend my account?
For temporary suspension to be completed, the customer must contact Customer Care at 866-347-3292.
Is there a charge for temporary suspension?
For the duration of your suspension, you will not be required to pay for your internet service. However, you still must pay your monthly lease charges.
How long can I suspend my account?
A temporary suspension can last up to 180 days, or 6 months, during a 365-day period. The time that your account is suspended does not count as part of your 2-year commitment. While your account is suspended, you contract term will pause. When you resume service, your contract term will resume from where it was prior to the suspension. For example, if you have 6 months remaining in your 24- month service commitment prior to your suspension, you will still have 6 months remaining when you resume service.
